If your going to sand the floor down anyway, rip it up with a puddy knife or similar tool. The small scratched you make will get sanded out anyway. Just don't put any deep gouges in it. I wouldn't waste time stripping if you gotta sand anyway. Rip it up the quickest way possible. thats my 2 cents.
