I am currently replicating a 19th century oak butlers table. I would like to know if a glue joint will be stong enough to make th top at 18 inches wide. I am using #2 red oak 1x6 for the top, if oak is not a good bond for glue what wood should I use. I have the basic power and hand tools, but not the fancy buscit joiner.
