Before replacing stuff, try this. 1. Shop vac and wipe out all of the wood dust. 2. Make sure that the wooden tracks are smooth. If not, fine sand until they are smooth. Both the track in the cabinet and the one on the drawer. 3. Lubricate the track with something like soap or candle wax. There may be better lubricants to use than this.
It may be better to try restoring what you have to a proper working order before scrapping and modifying.
Or wait until Henry and JJ respond to provide better solutions.
