If you’re the fix-it person around your house, you’ve been in some tight spotS. Whether it’s in the attic, behind the dryer, or under the hood of the car, good lighting can make all the difference. And when you’re working with both hands, a flashlight won’t cut it. Work lights are ok but you may still have to plug them in and move them around to avoid shadows.

Headlamps aren’t just for spelunkers and rock climbers anymore, and they don’t have to be bulky and heavy as they were in the past. Now with LED technology, even a tiny headlamp can generate up to 200 lumens, plenty of light for any job, with just three triple-A batteries.

When the light is directed along your sightline, you don’t have a problem with shadows. Get one with a dimmer switch to maximize your battery life and it can last for days. Dimmable LED headlamps can cost between forty and a hundred and forty dollars, and can be well worth the investment for anyone who likes to see what they’re doing!
