Walmart has officially partnered with Angi, which has a network of 250,000 professionals in nearly every ZIP code in the country, to offer home services ranging from furniture assembly to painting and flooring installation. The partnership officially launched on February 14 and allows Walmart shoppers to book an Angi pro both online and in-store.

This isn’t the first time Walmart has ventured into home services territory. “We have offered some level of home services since 2017,” says Tyler Thomason, Walmart’s Senior Manager of Global Communications. “What we’re doing now is expanding into more complex home improvement services like painting and flooring services to complement [existing] services, like furniture assembly.”

Angi’s CEO, Oisin Hanrahan, thinks that this is just the right time to embark on a partnership with Walmart: “People across the U.S. are doing more home improvement, maintenance, and repair work” in pandemic times, he says, and they turn to Walmart to find the tools and materials needed to start those projects. “Sprucing up an entertaining space by installing a new smart TV, painting a nursery for a family addition, and transforming an outdoor space and adding a patio are now projects that…customers can get done…with the help of an Angi pro as part of the Walmart shopping experience.”

Angi services can be booked in close to 4,000 Walmart stores across the U.S. and are available nationwide on Walmart’s website. Booking a service from Angi is just as simple as checking out with any regular item. Online, customers add desired services to their shopping cart and check out. In-store, services can be purchased alongside eligible items. An Angi representative will then reach out to schedule a date and time for the service to be performed. For projects that require a quote, a project advisor will make a price estimate and then find the right professional to do the task. The advisor will remain involved along the way to ensure the process runs smoothly.
