The rope provided is very short and not very durable. I purchased 2x 50' of 1/4" diamond braid utility rope (works much better). You need a rope that have very little stretch (don't use paracord). The 1/4" rope is larger diameter than the rope provided, which is less likely to break if you get the chain bound in the cut. Use the "S" hooks provided in the kit to attach the rope to the chain (pliers to squeeze the "S" hooks to keep it from coming apart). The plastic handles provided with the saw kit work pretty good (even with the larger 1/4" rope).
The throw bag provided is useless (unless your limb is about 10' off the ground). I use a 35# bow & arrow, with 3 lug-nuts taped to the arrow for weight, and string tied to the arrow. Once I get the arrow over the limb (sometimes takes several shots), tie the string to the 1/4" rope and pull the rope over the limb. Have your buddy stand some distance away from the tree, so the rope is about 45-degree angle from vertical (If you stand too close the chain will bind in the cut). Getting a rhythm takes some practice, but the chain cuts pretty quickly. When the limb starts to fall... RUN. You can't predict how the limb will swing on the way down or if it will bounce.
When this one wears-out, I will buy another.
