I used these to raise the walls on a shed with a 4x4 as a spacer. I then drove these screws through a 2x4 bottom plate of the wall then a treated 4x4 then 3/4” treated plywood on the top of my platform and finally into the 2x8 perimeter of my platform. That was tough. I stalled out using a Ryobi 18 volt impact driver. The head of the screw was about an inch from the top surface of the 2x4 (so it had about another inch to go before it really secured anything). I ended up drilling a 1/4” pilot hole about 4-5” deep and then I was off and running. The bit included is nice. Everything works well. It just got a little too tight in my application for my impact driver to handle it. After I started drilling the pilot holes I had no problems at all. Nice screws!!
