Use Tap Water

Stop storing distilled water! PurSteam irons use regular tap water (up to 12 grains of hardness). A self-cleaning feature helps remove scale from inside the iron’s soleplate so your iron glides smoothly.

Garment/Fabric Settings

Use the knob to select your fabric type. Wait for the green light before ironing when you change the temperature. The iron temp will adjust, and a light will blink as you use it to maintain the temp. Refer to the fabric label when determining fabric type.

Remove Wrinkles with Ease

Easily add a burst of steam or spray water (in a fine mist or a quick jet) with the conveniently located steam settings. Steam can quickly remove stubborn wrinkles or press in sharp creases.

Great Customer Service for a Great Iron *REVISED AND IMPROVED REVIEW*
I'm not even going to keep my first review up because really it just focused on the steam function, and I got a bad copy and was really bummed about it. Honestly - it happens... but PUR's customer service swept in and saved the day. They sent me an email explaining where the faulty part must have been and they QUICKLY sent me a whole new Iron free of charge. So now I get to write the review I WANTED to write when I first got this Iron!PUR is the company that makes what are probably the most well-known upright steamers, you know, for things like curtains and Dresses and Suits. I think that's why this is such a good iron for the price. And So - It's definitely a light-to-medium weight iron. You can see I have two others I'm comparing it to today. An expensive ORECK and a popular Rowenta - those are both a little heavier, (before adding water of course. And they're a LOT more expensive than the PUR).I find it well balanced and it holds plenty of water for steam. It doesn't have the trendy bottle-nose tip, but honestly aside from some shirts and blouses, that slightly more narrow tip on the Rowenta doesn't really make much difference on most common things you'd be ironing.HEAT: The PUR definitely has a higher top-heat than the others, so be careful. Now if you need to tackle a whole basket of cotton dinner napkins or a cotton canvas chair cover or canopy - this extra heat makes it a lot better.STEAM: The steam has 3 settings; off, low steam, and high steam. chosen by a common and simple thumb lever that's in the perfect place to move without stopping your flow. The low steam is great for most everything requiring a typical amount of steam help. The high steam is great! It really creates a lot of steam. steam that penetrates really well too.And now the biggie - the upright steaming gem of the "Blast of steam button". It just flat out wins. The forward puff of steam comes out more forcefully than the Rowenta and the Oreck and travels farther. I should put up videos showing them each. That Rowenta is only a month or two old too, so it would be a great comparison. The PUR iron so totally pushes the steam out harder and farther like it's PUR big vertical brothers.I wear suits most days and this helps me get wrinkles out pretty much as well as a DEDICATED upright steamer. So that's a SUPER useful tool. And of course it is exactly what you need for regular ironing too. It's a great blast of steam, but its not too much that you're suddenly in a scalding hot cloud or anything. Not at all. And the lever-button feels solid and comfortable under your thumb.Win.The SPRAY function is good too. A big easy to press lever-button and a pretty standard amount of water delivered just ahead of the iron without drips. My bad copy I got at first had steam malfunctions that also led to leaking water onto the work, But the replacement is absolutely fine. No leaking water anywhere at all really. Just like most of the other reviews here say.CORD LENGTH is a bit longer than both the Oreck and Rowenta so that's another plus.WATER RESERVOIR is good sized and mostly clear so it's easy to see how much you've got in there.Yes, it can empty out fast if you're using a lot of steam, but that's just how it goes when you get a lot of steam out of it.FACE PLATE is stainless steel like the Rowenta and most others. You have to clean it from time to time, but that's just standard.I've tried the "ceramic" like the CHI and was pretty disappointed. Didn't keep it.The Oreck has a masterful TEFLON face plate and almost NOTHING builds up on it, and I wish the PUR or others could have this, but the TEFLON face plates seem to be gone from the market, so maybe it has become a banned chemical thing. I get it...TEFLON is some pretty nasty stuff that you really don't want in your body.Okay... YES, the temperature dial is STIFF.That's really the only downside of this otherwise great iron. Lots of other people have pointed it out and they're not wrong. The positioning and labeling of the dial is pretty standard, but yeah, it can be really hard to turn sometimes. And a little hard to read. If you have a weakness issue or arthritis in your hands or fingers this might not be the iron for you. This is why I pulled off 1-star away from 5-stars and give this great affordable iron a 4 out of 5 review. I wish I could give it 4 and a half stars. It was hard deciding though. Their customer service was AMAZEBALLS. Like good like I've never seen before on a product that wasn't like a car or something. It was a new experience for me and it made me feel like this company intends to stay on top for the RIGHT reasons. Very cool. Thanks Dianne! So many winning attributes to this iron... I use it almost every day, but not for hours and hours or anything - its still home use. Just a busy home, and I occasionally do some word-of-mouth tailoring and alterations on the side. The balance, the longer cord, the great steam, and OH YEAH...it gets hot FAST! I really love that. And the fact that this great tool is as affordable as it is really makes me want to give it 5-stars but the stiff dial could really be a problem for folks with arthritis or some other hand weakness problem. But aside from that one issue I must say that I think this iron is -THE BEST IRON VALUE OUT THERE. * * * *I seriously may buy one or two more as backups at this price. I think that says everything.*AND it's from a company that has been around and is still basically mostly AMERICAN. (Considering that everything is globalized to some extent nowadays.)But hey guys, don't go raising the price just because its a great iron at a great price either! Let it be the one everybody has and you'll stay the superstars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Customer Service for a Great Iron *REVISED AND IMPROVED REVIEW*
Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020
I'm not even going to keep my first review up because really it just focused on the steam function, and I got a bad copy and was really bummed about it. Honestly - it happens... but PUR's customer service swept in and saved the day. They sent me an email explaining where the faulty part must have been and they QUICKLY sent me a whole new Iron free of charge.

So now I get to write the review I WANTED to write when I first got this Iron!
PUR is the company that makes what are probably the most well-known upright steamers, you know, for things like curtains and Dresses and Suits. I think that's why this is such a good iron for the price.

And So - It's definitely a light-to-medium weight iron. You can see I have two others I'm comparing it to today. An expensive ORECK and a popular Rowenta - those are both a little heavier, (before adding water of course. And they're a LOT more expensive than the PUR).

I find it well balanced and it holds plenty of water for steam. It doesn't have the trendy bottle-nose tip, but honestly aside from some shirts and blouses, that slightly more narrow tip on the Rowenta doesn't really make much difference on most common things you'd be ironing.

HEAT: The PUR definitely has a higher top-heat than the others, so be careful. Now if you need to tackle a whole basket of cotton dinner napkins or a cotton canvas chair cover or canopy - this extra heat makes it a lot better.

STEAM: The steam has 3 settings; off, low steam, and high steam. chosen by a common and simple thumb lever that's in the perfect place to move without stopping your flow.
The low steam is great for most everything requiring a typical amount of steam help.
The high steam is great! It really creates a lot of steam. steam that penetrates really well too.
And now the biggie - the upright steaming gem of the "Blast of steam button". It just flat out wins. The forward puff of steam comes out more forcefully than the Rowenta and the Oreck and travels farther. I should put up videos showing them each. That Rowenta is only a month or two old too, so it would be a great comparison. The PUR iron so totally pushes the steam out harder and farther like it's PUR big vertical brothers.
I wear suits most days and this helps me get wrinkles out pretty much as well as a DEDICATED upright steamer. So that's a SUPER useful tool. And of course it is exactly what you need for regular ironing too. It's a great blast of steam, but its not too much that you're suddenly in a scalding hot cloud or anything. Not at all. And the lever-button feels solid and comfortable under your thumb.
Win.

The SPRAY function is good too. A big easy to press lever-button and a pretty standard amount of water delivered just ahead of the iron without drips.

My bad copy I got at first had steam malfunctions that also led to leaking water onto the work, But the replacement is absolutely fine. No leaking water anywhere at all really. Just like most of the other reviews here say.

CORD LENGTH is a bit longer than both the Oreck and Rowenta so that's another plus.

WATER RESERVOIR is good sized and mostly clear so it's easy to see how much you've got in there.
Yes, it can empty out fast if you're using a lot of steam, but that's just how it goes when you get a lot of steam out of it.

FACE PLATE is stainless steel like the Rowenta and most others. You have to clean it from time to time, but that's just standard.
I've tried the "ceramic" like the CHI and was pretty disappointed. Didn't keep it.
The Oreck has a masterful TEFLON face plate and almost NOTHING builds up on it, and I wish the PUR or others could have this, but the TEFLON face plates seem to be gone from the market, so maybe it has become a banned chemical thing. I get it...TEFLON is some pretty nasty stuff that you really don't want in your body.

Okay... YES, the temperature dial is STIFF.
That's really the only downside of this otherwise great iron.

But aside from that one issue I must say that I think this iron is -

THE BEST IRON VALUE OUT THERE. * * * *

I seriously may buy one or two more as backups at this price. I think that says everything.

*AND it's from a company that has been around and is still basically mostly AMERICAN. (Considering that everything is globalized to some extent nowadays.)
But hey guys, don't go raising the price just because its a great iron at a great price either! Let it be the one everybody has and you'll stay the superstars.
