Ok so I held off reviewing this product to see how well it worked. We bought a boat load of this stuff for our lawn, orchard, and vineyard. We have been over run with Japanese beetles for several years now. The beetles have not emerged yet this year so not a review of that yet. But I had to let you all know what it has done. Our yard orchard and vineyard had a huge amount of mole runs. Moles eat jap beetle larva. Well a couple weeks after we applied this milky spore. No more moles!! Every place we didn't apply there are a crazy amount of moles! So if for no other reason but to rid your yard of moles this is worth the time to apply and the cost. It does take lots of time to apply!
The moles have been all over the place this year and the money I've spent on traps and gadgets surpassed what I've spent on Milky Spore. The moles have slowed down already since the application was made. I gave the product only 4 stars rating only because I need to give it some time to prove itself conclusively.
The description tells you how to determine how much Milky Spore you'll need. What I didn't take into consideration were the buildings on my acre of ground,,, therefore I ended up with WAY more than I actually needed. I made my applicator our of a coffee can & a board,,, worked like a charm,,, We'll see how this all works, in the spring!
I'm not sure I know how to use it. I have 20000 sq. ft to do. Using a tea spoon sounds like a terrible job. Reveiws on the tube applicator were not good.

I have used the St. Gabriel organic milky spore consistently for about five years. Regrettably, the other people in the neighbor don't, so we still have Japanese beetles, but I have far less. For the first two years, I assiduously measured out the 1/4 cup and plotted it in a grid as recommended. The third year, a breeze came along and scattered the spores for me. Now I just take it by the cupful and scatter it on the wind. It seems to work just as well and doesn't take so long to apply. If you have bare dirt, the grubs have eaten their way thru the grass roots. I rake this area, but it has to be replanted. The other thing that works is to go out early in the morning, when the beetles are still sluggish, and hand pick them off the plants and put them in a bucket of soapy water, which later goes does the toilet. (Don't step on them; they propagate.) Last year, I had hardly any Japanese beetles, even tho they were still prolific in the neighborhood. I will continue to use milky spore on my yard; I think it really helps.
