The Pit Boss is everything a work boot should be: Safe, tough and really comfortable. First off, the steel toe construction meets ANSI safety standards and offers a roomier toe box than other boots. This means no foot pain even after long hours of hard work. You've also go an unsurpassed traction-grip for working on wet or slippery surfaces and electronic hazard protection to keep you safe from open circuits. On the comfort front, a removable sock liner proves blisters don't have to go hand-in-hand with hard work. And finally, these boots aren't anything if they aren't tough. Go ahead, just try and wear them out.

It's been 3 years and 4 months since I got these Timberland Pro boots and I'm happy to report that they are still going strong. I work construction and wear them almost every day. I use Odor Eaters work boot insoles which I change every 3 months + another soft foam insole + the original insole and they are very comfortable. I got the boot a half size larger so it fits well with the extra insoles and I've never had blisters even when roofing. Roofing can be torture to your feet (and boots) because you are working on a slope so there are constant lateral forces on the bottoms of your feet.
While the soles have worn some they are by no means worn out. The leather is still in very good shape other than a gouge on the toe of the right boot. It's just cosmetic as no water gets in through it. The stitching is top notch no rips or pulled out stitches. I figure that I'll get another 3 years or more from these boots.
I did have a lace break and in a pinch I superglued it. I planned on getting new laces but haven't because I'm cheap and lace works fine. Superglue also works good on shoelace tips that are fraying.
I treated the boots once with Never Wet for boots. I was expecting that water would bead up and roll off "like water off a ducks back", but it didn't really bead up although water doesn't really soak in.
I would also like to note that I previously purchased a pair of these boots that were slightly too small. I wore them for a while but a couple of times after jamming my toes jumping down I got these a half size bigger. So I tossed them in the garage and planned to give them to Goodwill. Of course I forgot until about a year ago when I ran across them all dusty in the garage. Oddly the heals had deteriorated and were soft and crumbly. Not the bottom sole, just the foamy rubber rubber above it. I have read many reviews about this being a problem with Timberline boots. But this appears that Timberline has remedied the problem as my current pair has lasted a long time.
Older review: Got a good deal on the through Amazon Warehouse. The description said there were minor blemishes but I couldn't find any. I'd just seen a pair someone was selling on Craigslist for $80 in slightly used condition. I paid $60 for these and they are new. They look new, smell new, and fit great. Some days I get home burned out and I've fallen asleep with these on. Just like a pair of slippers! Well okay that may be a little excessive. Just call it the Trump effect... The boots are great though no bovine doo key here... umm well I gotta watch what I say or I get an email from Amazon saying I was bad and violated someone in their department that looks for violations. They should put a list out of the words they allow cuz really it wasn't that bad. Did I mention the boots are great?

Out of the box:
I was concerned, they felt stiff in my hands and pulling the insole out revealed a foam thing that didn't seem to have the foot shape that I expected. Mmmm new shoe smell.
I liked the laces, thin but strong feeling. The best part about the laces is how easily it was to take them out and thread them through. From the pictures on here I thought there were 3 things you wrap the laces around to tie them, there is actually two and the third ones down are a tighter hole that keeps the lower holes from getting too loose. Another awesome point is that the wrap around nub things at the top are polished and rounded which I can tell will help the laces from fraying and breaking at this spot like most of my previous boots.
Walking in them doesn't feel like any "new" pair of boots I've had. The soles are curved in the right places. Arch feels supported and all together solid. I crouch down a lot, sort of sitting on my heels; everything felt fine and the leather didn't crack or fold in on itself like one would see in cheaper material.
I plan to wear these for a month at work then updating. I am not gentle on footwear. Kicking metal and wood, tripping up on stuff and constantly crouching and getting low is daily.
30+ days later, photos added. These things are beast, interior is holding up better than any footwear I have ever owned. Exterior has taken some serious beatings without showing any significant damage. An 83 lb bar hit the front of my right foot from about 3 ft up and barely split a tear into the leather. Sole isn't showing any signs of separation from boot. Treads barely look used, my step counter averages 10k steps a day at work. I did put some new insoles in but that was because after a week or two the extra wide size I got started to let my feet move around too much for my liking. I will continue to buy the wider size though, with the insoles it took these to a whole new world of comfort.
I love these things, I plan on buying these in the future. They have ruined other footwear for me I feel so spoiled. If you've read to this point what are you waiting for get a pair.
