It's like acne on metal. This is on the inside and the outside of window and sliding door frames. It doesn't look like calcium or mineral buildup. It isn't raised or bumpy.

It is kinda unattractive and I'd like to make it go away.

a. Super-fine grit paper on a random-orbit sander?

b. Hazardous chemicals

c. Will it away with the power of my mind?

Personally I like the hazardous material approach. It just seems like if you can't beat it, kill it. LOL

The aluminum is either anodized or has a simple mill finish. Mill finishes can be polished with a metal polish and coated with a lacquer clear coat to prevent recurrance. Same clear coat that is sold for use on automotive finishes.
