My house was built in 1901. Yep '01. It is a one story with basement and an add on room. The basement wall under the add on is caving in. There has been a period of about 4 years with no gutters on that side of the house. We recently purchased the home. The home is built slightly into a hill on the bad wall side. The basement wall is made from bricks with mortar plasterd on the inside face. The wall is bad for 22ft..some bricks have fallen and I removed them and some dirt. About 7 ft. Have been removed a I installed 3 jackposts. Can I remove the rest if the bowing wall and repair with concrete block? The basement has a concrete floor. I place the jackposts on the foundation and under tbe beam or very rough sawn wood. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
