Looking for plans to build bahama shutters. Have searched the web. Cannot believe I am the only one who has had this idea.

Bahama shutters are generally exterior shutters that hinge at the top of the window and prop out from the bottom. Bahama typically use fixed louvers with a vertical sub-stile so they can cover the full window. I am unable to find a site that gives instructions to build bahama shutters, but you may want to just look for instructions to build fixed louver wood exterior shutters.

A search for plantation style shutters may prove worthless. Plantation style shutters ( as show at generally are built as interior shutters, are hinged to the side, and use movable louvers.

Plantation shutters look the same but aren't. These are more of a type of screen that work like byfold door. I've searched the web to and can't find anything but pictures, with no plans, either. I was wondering if regular louvered shutters from Lowes and screen door hinges mounted on the top would work, with some kind os=f a prop stick to hold it open (I only need to open for summer to reflect the sun). Let me know if you try it.
