I have sash pulls from old windows that I would like to use on new Marvin Integrity 6 over 6 double hung windows. Visually, it looks like the bottom rail is 1/2" thick and this was verified by a rep at Marvin. I don't want to puncture anything that is sandwiched between wood on these windows and Marvin's official stance is "we don't recommend adding aftermarket pulls to our windows". If I use 1/2" screws that will penetrate less than 1/2" due to the thickness of the pull itself, will I be OK?
