A little more than a year ago, Muth & Co. Roofing installed a new GAF Timberline roof on my house as well as an attic ventilation fan. Now whenever the temperature gets high enough, the shingles outgas a tar odor that can be smelled both outside and inside my house. GAF and the roofer don’t believe me and are taking no steps to resolve the problem. I have asked the roofer to upgrade the attic ventilation to no avail. Do you know how to solve this shingle outgassing problem? Or at least keep the smell out of my house? Thanks so much for any guidance you can offer.
