You'll have to check the warranty on the product you intend to purchase. I know some manufacturers will only honor the warranty if the consumer can prove they brought the appliances across the border when they moved and not just cross border shopping.
Our company in Canada also dealt with some US retailers whom made arrangements with us so the store them self honored the product warranty when the manufacturer didn't. Some stores in Canada close to the border may have similar arrangements with US servicers. Try asking some Canadian retailers. Hopefully the store them self will not go out of business and leave you stranded.
Additionally, some credit card companies offer extended warranties for purchases. If you used such a card, any repairs needed in the first year may be covered that way.
