Does anyone know if lumber stored at an indoor lumber yard performs differently when implemented in a deck vs. lumbar that was already stored outside? Someone had told me that indoor stored lumber tends to warp more.
Hi J,
Wood usually splits, cracks, checks and warps due to changes in the evironment around it. The less change the less damage to a board. I would go for the wood that was stored out doors. I know that I'll probably get some flack on this but it's one man's opinion based on my experience.....MJH

I agree with that one, It does make a difference where the wood is stored if it is to be used for an outdoor project.
Not this time MJH
...you want to maintain the 19% moisture content of "green" stock at least until you have it stable ie: nailed in place. Just be sure that the storage facilities are covered from rain and sun but open to the air... the typical steel outdoor storage you find at most lumber yards.
KD (kiln dried) you want indoors though...
