I live in a ranch home built in 1980. Last year I installed new grey vinyl siding and vinyl double hung replacement windows. The house faces W and the driveway is on the N. The entry door is recessed in the middle of the house. The living room is on the N before the door. The front steps are poured into the basement foundation. I have removed all landscaping and a cracked uneven sidewalk. It was mentioned that maybe a porch could be added. Do you have any ideas? The roof line is gabled, I think, with a peak over the front windows. If not a porch then maybe you have some ideas for a new look for the new siding and windows. Thanks, Cindy

If the gables are to the front then a porch may not work.

Perhaps a pergola with nice columns at the entrance. You could use cedar that would gray to match the siding and Tuscan columns at the entrance for a classical look?

There are some interesting ideas at that url.
