I am remodeling a 1958 kitchen that has a wall mounted fawcett and air gap. I need source(s) for this style of air gap because I want to keep the countertop clear. All the "home improvement" stores only carry the deck mount style. The old one is metal (bronze?).

Wall-mount air-gaps have not been manufactured in many years... the last time I saw a new one in a box was in the mid seventies...they were made of brass. when I want to re-use a wall mount I just get the part that shows re-plated.

You are right that no one has seen a new wall mounted air gap in years. I gingerly removed the "can" from the wall and did a leak check. I took the exposed vent and bezel to a motorcycle chrome shop for replating. It looks (and works) great.

Of course I was right Ive been doing this well over 30 years :).....Nice of you to write a follow-up note..... Not many people ever think to write back or thank anyone for the info....... I would guess that "lonny the plumber" gave-up for that reason. erik
