Just finished building a new home and the water has a blue green tint. Has anyone ever hear of this??

It may be a residual flux residue coming out of the faucets. It should flush out. Flux is used to clean copper pipe when soldering. It should be flushed out ASAP after the joints are soldered.

Thanks Tom....The people have been in the house for about 6 months now and the water is still Blue/Green. The house is around 7500 sq.ft. so it took some time to build. They have a water softner, but we are still getting B/G water out of the outside faucets but it is a lighter B/G. We have tested the water and are finding copper in it. It seems the deeper we get into the house, or the more copper pipe the water runs through, the higher the copper content of the water. We have been tring to solve this from day one. Please ask me any kind of questions you may have to help you get a better idea on the matter. Thanks!

We are having the same greenish blue water in our pipes, but it is only to the wirlpool tub we have. We very rarely use that tub, so we didn't notice it until today.

Any suggestions?

P.S. It is only our hot water.

So I found out what was causing the blue/green water. We have a wirlpool tub and my wife took a bubble bath in it. Apparently some still remains in the jets causing the water to turn blue/green.
