I just moved into a house that is about ten years old. There has been no updates in this house and things needs to be replaced. I have purchased new tub/shower faucets as well as sink faucets but have absolutely no experience in replacing these. I have taken the shower fixtures off only to see pipes and no way to remove and replace these fixtures. Also, the sink faucets are so corroded that they also seem impossible to replace. Please help!
You're going to need to obtain tools for these somewhat specialized jobs. On the kitchen sink you will probably need a good ridgid basin wrench with a square shank. This will allow you to put a 12" crescent on the basin wrench to remove the nuts. Spraying them with WD40 or a lubricant can help.
On your shower faucet do you have copper, steel or plastic pipe? Do you have and purchased a two handle faucet or a single lever? What brands are the faucets? Are you coming in from the front or the back?
