The slab in my basement is busted up in the corner where my water service comes in and I want to fill it back in. I am wondering if it is ok to place the concrete directly around the copper pipe or should it be wrapped with something first.

Concrete eats copper so you should insulate it from the pour. Many use pipe insulation. It is smart that you knew to ask.
