Greetings all, I am doing a total reno on my home (full basement, main floor, full attic) I opened up the main floor by spanning the length of the house 28' with two 14' headers (2 2"/10" spuce sistered) I dont have alot of experience, actually none, and have a hard time reading the span tables, request info on the max distance I can span between beams or posts. For you considersation, tx.

That would be a structural beam, you should consult with a structural engineer. All of the loads from the roof on down will rest on a basement beam typically.

.. by the way, those 2-2X10 "beams" you've placed are extremely undersized in my humble opinion so I would talk to a professional rather quickly.

If you look at my deck site, and beams suggested just to hold up a mere 40lbs / sq ft dead load for a deck they would be undersized.. and that doesn't have the house sitting on top of it.
