Hello. My mom and I was wondering how to put shelves up on a 45 degree angle wall. Its my grandmothers house and she lives in a "A" frame house. On her walls that are at a angle she can't put shelves up. So anyways can anyone give any ideas? Thanks Christy

Christy,

Shelves can be mounted this way. At the height you want the shelf, mount a small board(called a cleat)like a 1x2 equal to the length of the shelf. You will have to cut the angle on top of the board to make level with the floor. Screw this cleat to the studs in the wall or use some other fasteners like toggle bolts if no stud can be found.

This board will hold the rear of the shelf. To hold the front of the shelf you will use some thin Aircraft Cable mounted on the wall above the shelf and on the shelf front corners. You can use small eye bolts for this step. Use glue and/or screws to secure the rear of the shelf to the cleat. All items can be found at the your local hardware store.

I hope this helps and good luck.
