I need to install the following from my 100A Circuit Panel(Type QP Breakers) and have a few questions. I have added new 110 Breakers in the past but 220 is new to me. The electrical service is fairly new, there are plenty of slots availalbe, and there is a service disconnect outside the house. Both of these outlets are located within 20 Feet from the Breaker Box.

1. 30A Dryer Outlet in Utility Room. I was planning to use 10/3 Wire for this. Is it true that 220 Breakers have two Hot Wires that connect to each of the posts on the double breaker? Any special instructions on the Ground and Neutral or is it same as 110?

2. 50A Oven Breaker in Kitchen. I was planning to install a 3 blade plug here but wasn't sure of the wire type to use. Again, is the Double Breaker a case where there are two Hots, one connecting to each of the breaker poles? Any special instructions on the Ground and Neutral or is it same as 110?

Thanks In Advance,

1. You will need 10-3 with ground and a 4 wire receptacle. White goes to the neutral bus and the equipment ground goes to the equipment ground bus.

2. You will need 6-3 with ground and a 4 wire receptacle. Hook up neutrals & grounds as described above.
