Hi,

I have a room which is completely wallpapered with a border at the top (doll design). Since we are going to have a baby boy, I would like to remove the border and replace it with a new border. The current border is quite wide. The new border will most likely be narrower. Is there some way to remove the existing border, clean up the access glue, and put in a new border, or do I need to remove all of the wallpaper in the room and start over again. Any advice is appreciated. Also, how would we remove the border without removing the wallpaper underneath the border? Thanks.

I am not sure if you can remove the border without damaging th epaper below it. I guess you could try and if it does not work you will just have to remove all the paper along with the border. You may be able to peel of the top coating of the border and just have the border to remove and I would use warm water in a spray bottle and wet the backing and just try to be careful. If you need to remove all the paper use DIF to remove it.

I have heard of people using a razor knife and cutting right on the line of the border all the way around the bottom of border right where it meets the wall covering this way it won't pull away the wallpaper.Note I have never seen it done or have never tryed it personally. But it sure would beat re-doing the whole thing. Then with a steam remover machine the border may just come off right at that cut?Just what i have heard before so use your own judgement.
