I'm want to use ceramic tile for my kitchen backsplash. It turns out that for the size of the job it would be, over 2/3 of the cost would be for installation.

I'm considering giving it a shot on my own. Of course I'd give it a trial run with some cheap tile in a corner of my basement to see how it goes, but does anybody have any advice ? Is this an easy to moderate job, or should I just have a professional do it ? I try to think of myself as being relatively handy around the house.
