I am in the process of tiling our family room and kitchen and am uncertain how to transition the kitchen to the basement steps. The basement steps and risers are carpeted. How do I make a smooth transition from the tile on the kitchen floor to the carpet on the basement steps?

Thanks

You can use a regular (metal) tile to carpet transition piece, they have several different colors available to match closer to what you'd like to have for your area.

Just install as normal, (on top of hardibacker, but under the tile) make sure you set it in thin-set, and install according to the recommended method, then tuck the carpet on your stairs as normal.

Hope This Helps.

You could use a metal bull-nose to cap off tile on landing. Leave it go past a quarter inch or so.
The carpet can then be tucked underneath.
You can also buy bull-noses that wrap down over .
Thanks, hope this helps
You could also go to a hardware or home improvement center and tell them what you need.
