Hi,
I had a company sand and refinish my hardwood floors (didn't have time to do it myself) over the weekend and when I went to look at it the finish isn't smooth like it was before.
There is a regular pattern of small raised circles roughly 1/16" to 1/8" in diameter that are tightly spaced. They aren't very thick, but can be felt when walking with bare feet.
I haven't talked to the contractor yet. I want to find out what you all think first. Should I be relaxed or be upset? :-)
Thanks,
Lance
sounds like the refinisher rushed it.
call the contractor back to repair.
that is simply shoddy workmanship.
they may be able to be buffed out, but if not they can apply another coat or two.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I've attached a photo of the floor. You can see the 'spots.' they're pretty uniform throughout the entire floor.
I spoke to the guy who did it and he has promised to redo the floor, but claims to have done the original work slowly and carefully and that he has never seen this happen before.
The company who made the stain said that it could be caused by heat and drying too fast. It was very sunny that day (and 95F outside) but I had the AC set to 72.
Could that be the cause and if so, how do I stop it from happening when we redo the work?
Thanks,
Lance

the only way to stop it srying too fast is controlling the humidity of the area or picking a more appropriate day where its less dry.
That's a first for me. You might ask the company supplying the product how to prevent that if in fact that is what caused it.
