How well does it actually remove airborne dust?

In testing, the AlorAir Air Scrubber did exactly what it’s designed to do: move air fast and clean it. I could feel the airflow while it was running, and within a short time, the dusty air in my workspace improved noticeably. Fine dust that would normally hang in the air after sanding was being sucked in and filtered out instead of drifting around or settling where I didn’t want it.

It’s not silent, but I didn’t expect it to be. In a shop or during remodeling, the noise didn’t bother me at all—it’s still quieter than most saws and sanders. What mattered to me was that it kept working while I was actively creating dust, not just cleaning up after the fact.

Is the filtration system worth it?

The three-stage filtration system is where the Air Scrubber really earns its keep. A prefilter captures larger dust particles first, and after 2 weeks of testing, it was visibly loaded with debris. That’s exactly what you want, because it means the more expensive HEPA filter isn’t taking the hit.

The HEPA filter itself still looked nearly new after testing, which tells me the prefilter is doing its job correctly. Replacement prefilters are relatively cheap, so maintaining the unit over time is manageable without constantly replacing the higher-cost HEPA filter.

Who is this air scrubber best for?

The AlorAir isn’t for someone looking to freshen up a bedroom—it’s built for workshops, jobsites, and indoor renovation projects. It’s larger and bulkier than a standard air purifier, but that’s the price you pay for serious airflow and filtration.

There’s an option to attach ducting and vent air outside, but in most cases, I find that unnecessary. The air coming out has already been filtered through HEPA, so it’s clean; in other words, it’s fine if it keeps circulating in the room.
