These days, you can buy just about anything online—coffee, clothes, and even couches—directly from the people who make it. As a growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand, Cozey has been gaining attention with its line of modular [furniture](<https://www.bobvila.com/category/furniture-decor/>), which includes everything from sleeper sofas and shelving units to washable rugs and dining tables.

For the last 3 weeks, I’ve spent my evenings and weekends relaxing on the company’s [Neptune Sofa](<https://go.skimresources.com/?id=138113X1700762&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cozey.com%2Fen-us%2Fproduct%2Fseating%2Fneptune%2Ffull-bed-leaf-3-seater-headrest-none-no-sleep-kit&xcust=BV>) with the [Gabrielle rug](<https://go.skimresources.com/?id=138113X1700762&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cozey.com%2Fen-us%2Fproduct%2Frugs%2Fgabrielle%2Fhazelnut-2-5-x-8&xcust=BV>) underfoot. Our daughter and her friends have slept on it, as have our two dogs and cat. Honestly, there’s almost nothing I dislike about either piece, but with so many customizable layouts, fabrics, and colors available, deciding which setup to choose isn’t easy.

##

- **Endless customization with Cozey furniture.** The Neptune Sleeper Sofa offers numerous configurations and washable covers for easy maintenance.
- **Gabrielle Rug adds warmth and practicality.** Soft, cushioned, and machine washable, though larger sizes may need commercial washers.
- **High-quality materials and thoughtful design.** The Neptune Sofa is a major upgrade with clear assembly instructions and durable fabric options.
- **Perfect for versatile living spaces.** The sofa converts smoothly to a bed, and the rug ties the room together with style.

**Bottom line:** Cozey's Neptune Sleeper Sofa and Gabrielle Washable Rug offer customizable, high-quality options for modern living, combining style with practicality.

## Thoughtful Packaging and High-Quality Materials

This is our second DTC couch. When it arrived, we hauled our old one from a very well-known [sofa brand](<https://www.bobvila.com/articles/best-sofa-brands/>) straight to the dump, as no donation centers even wanted it. After years of use, its flimsy build felt loose, and because the cushion covers weren’t washable, certain spots (one arm in particular) were embarrassingly grubby even after repeated passes with our upholstery steam cleaner. After unpacking the [Cozey Neptune](<https://go.skimresources.com/?id=138113X1700762&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cozey.com%2Fen-us%2Fproduct%2Fseating%2Fneptune%2Ffull-bed-leaf-3-seater-headrest-none-no-sleep-kit&xcust=BV>)—all boxes clearly numbered and labeled—we could immediately tell it was a major upgrade.

The included instruction booklet feels more like a magazine than a how-to manual, complete with clear step-by-step guidance and full-color photos showing a real person performing each task. We hit a snag when we discovered a misprint that skipped from step 2 to step 4 in one section, but once we found [Cozey’s assembly guide on YouTube](<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWzjBRgtABE>), everything came together quickly.

Aesthetically, the deep pine green color we chose, Leaf, brought a saturated yet neutral tone to our rental home’s bland white walls, light carpeting, and warm wood trim. Cozey offers two fabric options with nine total colorways: Performance (what we went with)—available in Leaf, Slate, Mocha, Latte, and Fog—and a water- and stain-resistant Aquaforte—available in Sesame, Snowdrift, Basalt, and Limestone. Although we have two dogs, a cat, and frequent houseguests, including teenagers, we really loved the Leaf color and felt it would hold up just fine in our home since all the covers are machine washable and zippered for easy removal.

## Daily Use and Customization Options

Because our basement living room doubles as our movie room and guest room, we chose the [Neptune 3-seater sofa bed with a right chaise and headrests](<https://go.skimresources.com/?id=138113X1700762&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cozey.com%2Fen-us%2Fproduct%2Fseating%2Fneptune%2Ffull-bed-leaf-3-seater-chaise-right-all-headrests-no-sleep-kit&xcust=BV>). In couch mode, the 17-inch cushions felt firm at first, but now all I notice is how deeply comfortable and supportive they are. When converted to a full-size bed, those cushions feel surprisingly smooth—our daughter has had several sleepovers on it already, and all her friends have confirmed you can’t feel the breaks between the individual sections when lying down. If you need something smaller or larger, you can pare down to a single cushion (aka a chair) all the way up to seven. Headrests are an optional add-on (choose none or as many as you want, up to however many cushions you have). You can also add on chaises, which open up for hidden storage.

And because we all know a rug really ties a room together, we paired our sectional with Cozey’s [Gabrielle Washable Rug in Hazelnut](<https://go.skimresources.com/?id=138113X1700762&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cozey.com%2Fen-us%2Fproduct%2Frugs%2Fgabrielle%2Fhazelnut-8-x-10&xcust=BV>) (the 8-foot by 10-foot size), which adds a ton of warmth and texture to our otherwise plain basement. The brand’s rugs all come with well-cushioned, easy-to-attach modular mats that use the same numbered assembly process as the couch, and they’re available as runners up to 9-foot by 12-foot. They’re all machine washable, but obviously the larger sizes can be a bit big for residential washers. While a commercial washer would certainly do the trick, we’ll probably clean it the same way we have with our other washable rug: with a pressure washer on the deck (try at your own risk—this isn’t a Cozey-recommended method, just my personal experience).

Now that we’ve had the Neptune sleeper and Gabrielle rug in our home for the last few weeks, all I can say is: 10/10, would recommend. But if you’re totally overwhelmed by all the gorgeous styles, fabrics, and colors of [Cozey seating options](<https://go.skimresources.com/?id=138113X1700762&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cozey.com%2Fen-us%2Fshop%2Fseating&xcust=BV>) and [rugs](<https://go.skimresources.com/?id=138113X1700762&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cozey.com%2Fen-us%2Fshop%2Frugs&xcust=BV>) available (I’m already eyeing some for our main floor), the brand does have showrooms in major American and Canadian cities so you can see them before you choose. After all, this is the kind of purchase that’s much more a ‘which’ decision than an ‘if’ decision.
