Before testing, I couldn’t tell whether the [Dyson Cool AM07]() would be up to the challenge, as the brand doesn't list an official cubic feet per minute (CFM) rating, and its 70-degree oscillation angle is narrower than many less expensive models. But after using this bladeless tower fan for more than a month, it’s become a definite favorite for its noticeable [cooling]() power and incredibly quiet operation. ## - **Surprisingly powerful airflow.** Dyson's AM07 fan delivers a long-range breeze comparable to high-CFM models despite lacking an official rating. - **Impressively quiet operation.** Even at its highest speed, the fan remains a soothing white-noise presence without disruptive sounds. - **Simple and efficient design.** Easy-to-use remote and lightweight build enhance convenience, though losing the remote limits functionality. - **Easy maintenance.** Bladeless design allows for quick cleaning with just a wipe. **Bottom line:** Dyson's Cool AM07 fan combines powerful, quiet performance with user-friendly features, making it a top choice for large spaces. ## Airflow, Noise, and Efficiency As part of my tests of the [best tower fans](), I placed a piece of paper in front of each model to see how far they would blow it on high. Surprisingly, the Dyson moved its paper within just a few inches of the most powerful option, a Dreo that puts out 1475 CFM. While I’m sure Dyson has the technology to provide a CFM rating for the AM07 (even though it doesn’t), that simple test shows the brand’s Air Multiplier engineering projects a definite long-range breeze. The output feels delightfully smooth, and it’s certainly substantial enough to cover even a relatively large room. But the [Energy Star-certified AM07]() isn’t just powerful—it’s also quiet. On the lowest of its 10 speeds, my decibel meter showed it at 26 decibels, and on the highest, 51. Usually, when sound starts to get into the 50s, I start to worry it’ll bother me. The included remote makes it easy to switch between speeds, set the fan to oscillate or stay straight, or schedule the timer at intervals ranging from 15 minutes up to 9 hours. And because the remote is curved and magnetic, it snaps securely to the top of the fan and stays put even if you move the fan between rooms—something I’ve done without hesitation many times since it only weighs 6.3 pounds. One word of warning, however: Keep track of your remote. The fan itself only has one actual button, so while you’d still be able to turn it off and on and cycle through speeds (you just press and hold the button), you won’t be able to trigger the oscillation or set the sleep timer. That said, the overall design is still excellent.
