# Eufy’s E15 Robot Mower Is Perfect for Small Yards—But There’s a Catch

**Rating: 4.2/5**

I’m a loyal Eufy fan. I already own several of the company’s security devices and absolutely love the EufyHome app, so when I heard the brand was releasing a new robot mower, I couldn’t wait to try it out. Eufy has a well-earned reputation for smart, innovative products, and adding a robot mower to their lineup just made sense.

After testing the [Eufy E15 robot mower](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DRVYDXWX/?tag=bovi01-20>) on my own lawn, I found a lot to love, especially on a certain type of grass where it cut the lawn with almost no effort from me. But the results weren’t the same across the board. I have two types of grass—tall fescue in one area and low-growing buffalo in another—so I put the E15 to the test on both. Here’s what happened.

### Easy Setup

The setup was refreshingly simple right out of the box—about as close to plug-and-play as robot mowers get.

Instead of dealing with a tangle of boundary wires, we placed the base station in a permanent spot, plugged it in, and powered up the mower. That was the only wiring involved. The E15 uses advanced visual navigation, eliminating the need for perimeter wires or RTK antennas, which made installation much faster and less intimidating than it is for other robot mowers.

Once the mower was fully charged—about 1.5 hours—the EufyHome app guided us through defining the mowing area using auto mapping technology.

### Mowing

The E15 offers a mowing height range of 1 to 3 inches, but during my tests, it performed best when the grass was 2.5 inches or shorter. On my low-growing buffalo grass, the cuts were clean and precise, and the mower navigated effortlessly across the lawn.

On my taller fescue, however, it was a different story—the E15 tried, but it kept bogging down. The fescue was just too tall and dense for it to handle effectively.

I really liked the ability to control and monitor the E15’s mowing progress via my smartphone. Through the EufyHome app, I was not only able to schedule a mowing program but also view a real-time video feed from the mower’s onboard camera during use.

To test its obstacle avoidance, I placed a few shoes and dog toys randomly around the yard. Each time the E15 approached an object, it stopped, appeared to “think” for a moment, and then neatly steered around it without issue.

### Final Thoughts

Overall, the E15 is a great little smart machine for mowing small yards with fine-bladed, low-growing grass, such as buffalo. Schedule it to mow every day or every other day and you’ll end up with a neat, tidy lawn—without ever pushing a mower.

As long as the yard isn’t filled with tall or dense grass varieties, the [Eufy E15](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DRVYDXWX/?tag=bovi01-20>) delivers a convenient, hands-off mowing experience that lives up to Eufy’s reputation for innovation.
