# I Have 2 Dogs and This $30 Mop Changed How I Clean My Floors

I’ve been using the [Swiffer PowerMop Multi-Surface Kit](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1DWC251?tag=bovi01-20>) for more than a month now, and with two dogs and a family who’s constantly going in and out, it’s made a huge difference in the cleanliness of my floors. All I have to do is grab it from the closet, dispense a bit of cleaning solution with the built-in sprayer, and mop. It’s so easy that I end up doing quick cleanups and full cleaning sessions much more often than before. When I’m done, I just have to toss the disposable cleaning pad. Mopping with the Swiffer PowerMop saves a ton of time compared to a traditional mop and bucket.

I tested this Swiffer as part of a group of seven [mops for laminate floors](<https://www.bobvila.com/articles/best-mop-for-laminate-floors/>), awarding it as the best option for homes with pets. Since then, its convenience has made it the mop I reach for most often. The lightweight design and swiveling head make it easy to maneuver around furniture and along baseboards, and the 300+ scrubbing strips on the mopping pads do an excellent job removing sticky spills and muddy paw prints while also attracting pet hair. Though the pads are disposable, they generally last more than one cleaning (like Swiffer dusters do), especially if I’m only doing a small space.

The included cleaning solution leaves behind a light scent that lingers for a couple of hours. My kit came with the [fresh scent cleaning solution](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1R4C4J1/?tag=bovi01-20>), and it’s also available in [lavender](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1RR5GZ5/>), [Unstoppables](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D3FLH435/>), and [lemon for hardwood floors](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1RQS98H/>). As someone sensitive to strong chemical smells, I don’t find it overpowering at all—only pleasantly clean. The built-in sprayer, which is powered by two AA batteries, also allows you to control how much you spray based on the mess you’re targeting or the amount of fragrance you prefer.

Overall, though, for anyone who loves a tidy house but is short on time, the [Swiffer PowerMop](<https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1DWC251?tag=bovi01-20>) is a quick and efficient tool. Its lightweight design, effective mopping pads, and built-in spray mechanism make it easy to keep floors clean without too much effort.
