Horace Dodge, founder of the Dodge automobile company, and his wife, Anna, contracted Albert Kahn to build this enormous sandstone palace in the tony suburb of Grosse Pointe Farms, outside of Detroit. The home was completed in 1912, and Anna continued to live on the property after her husband's death in 1920. When Anna remarried in 1930, the house was razed so she could build a new mansion with her second husband.
