Sherwin-Williams' Color of the Year is a classic white. "Alabaster represents a shift toward mindfulness and well-being in the home," says Jackie Jordan, Sherwin-William's director of color marketing. "It's neither stark nor overly warm, but a flattering, alluring white."

"AIR .07 is a hue that sits between pink and purple, both colors that suggest youth and femininity," Colorhouse experts observe. "However, when a touch of gray fuses these two colors together, this sophisticated, androgynous color emerges."

For the first time, color trend predictors at Pantone have chosen two hues to represent their Color of the Year—the soft, seashell pink Rose Quartz and the airy sky blue of Serenity. "Joined together," Pantone's experts say, "Rose Quartz and Serenity reflect a soothing sense of order and peace."
