Lizzy is a trained chef, writer, and product reviewer with over 6 years of experience in the industry. She has contributed to BobVila.com since 2022 and focuses on kitchen, cooking, and home products and projects.
Experience
Lizzy was previously the food editor at Real Simple magazine, where she wrote food and cooking how-to articles, developed recipes, and oversaw photoshoots for the print magazine and website. Prior to that, she was a freelance food writer, product reviewer, and recipe developer for national brands and personal websites, including Insider, Women’s Health, and Simply Recipes. During this time, she attended and graduated from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a professional chef’s certificate. Before culinary school, she was the recipe editor at plant-based meal kit company Purple Carrot. She also spent a year teaching English in rural Malaysia as a Fulbright Fellow after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Amherst College.
She has produced cookbooks and dozens of foolproof recipes for home cooks of all levels. Additionally, Lizza has spent hours testing kitchen equipment, including small appliances, tools, gadgets, and cookware in order to find the best-performing products for home kitchens.
Education
Lizzy received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Amherst College with a Five College Certificate in culture, health, and science. She has a professional chef’s certification from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.
