Hi. Maybe someone out there can help me.

My downstairs neighbor complains about my children walking in our apartment. They are very young and cannot help having a heavy footfall, although we try our best to keep them from jumping or running in the house. Our building is a condo which was apparently built without any soundproofing, and we can hear noises coming up through our floor as well.

We have already put down rugs and carpets with heavy padding underneath, though we are unwilling to do so in our kitchens and bathrooms. Since our neighbor is still not happy with what we've done, we'd like to suggest something she can do from within her apartment to help alleviate the noise.

Does anyone have experience with soundproofing tiles or other materials which can be installed on the ceiling? What are the best products? Is there a good, inexpensive solution out there?
