I just purchased this saw from ***** . when I got home i tried to adjust the fence and the throat plate as per the directions. There is no way to adjust the fence in the manner they state in the manuel. the saw is a bad design. I took one back to the store because I thought it may have one that was milled wrong. I exchanged it for another one and this one was the same way. they need to put slots so you can move the fence to the position it calls for. The saw has 4 bolts that give in no play to adjust it to match up with a square. Does any one else had this problem. How does the dewalt saw compare??

I for one much prefer the DeWalt saws to the Craftsman. I have been using DeWalt compound miter saws for many years and would never trade it for a Craftsman. I used to use Craftsman power tools but found them lacking in many respects (the biggest one was durability).

In years past, Craftsman was the tool used by tradesmen and homeowners alike. I still have my Dad's two circular saws that were made in 1942 and they still work great. Alas, as the years rolled by, S***s Ro****k used different manufacturers to make their tools: thereby sacrificing the quality they once had. I've owned a DeWalt 12" saw for about 4 years now and have had no problem with it. The old adage my friend; You get what you pay for.
