How large of a space should be left between the laminate flooring and a wall, door frame, etc. The manufacturer of my flooring recomends 15mm (about 5/8"). This seems like a wide gap. Should I go smaller or stay with the suggested gap?

Stay with the suggested gap, as far as your door jambs...cut the bottom flush to the flooring so that the flooring slides under the jambs.

Hi cybercycle305,

Absolutely - Go with what the Mfgr. recommends. Also, they may be recommending 3/4" on the side vs. the end of the wood planks/strips. You don't want to set yourself up for a VOID on a WARRANTY!
