Bob and contractor Bob Ryley join exterminator Dean Bailey (of Fowler and Sons) to discuss termite control in and around the garage. Also, concrete contractor Shawn Doyle is on-hand to review the techniques used in pouring a concrete floor.
Bob tours the Old East Mill, a restored post-and-beam windmill, at Heritage Plantation in Sandwich, MA. In its day, the mill produced rye, corn, salt, and barley. Now it serves as an educational tool for schoolchildren and plantation visitors.

Bob and contractor Bob Ryley discuss the pouring of concrete into Styrofoam forms for the foundation. The mix is slightly more liquid than most. While the increased flowability does not compromise strength, it helps eliminate cavities in the pour.
Bob joins Bob Rogers of the Heritage Plantation, located in Sandwich, MA, for a tour of the post-and-beam Shaker round barn that houses the Josiah K. Lilly, III automobile collection.
Bob meets with Lars Anderson (from Owens Corning) to discuss the Lite-Form Insulating System used in the garage’s foundation. The forms are pre-assembled and tied together on site, making them very easy to work with.
Bob pays a visit to the site as work on the foundation gets underway. Once the excavation is complete, the forms (for the poured concrete) are assembled and put into place.
Bob tours the town of Osterville, MA, which has a deep background in fishing and maritime activity. And he meets with Bill Koch, one-time America’s Cup champion, to view Koch’s award-winning house and yachting command center.
