Bob meets with architectural restoration specialist Jack Beyer who reviews some of the challenges posed by developing a landmark building. It’s revealed that this is (at least) the second time in the building’s history that it is being converted.
The rehabilitation of this disused warehouse will consist of 1) converting each of the three upper floors to separate living spaces and 2) remodeling the commercial space on the ground floor.
Bob recounts history of the Brooklyn Bridge, and of the borough itself. He also talks about DUMBO, the neighborhood location for this project. Once an operating pepper mill, the warehouse building to be rehabbed has stood vacant for several decades.
