I have a 1000 square foot cottage which has insulated floor and walls, but the roof has never been insulated. The roof rafters are 2x6 construction, and when looking up at the "ceiling" of the cottage, the sheathing can be seen from the interior. That is to say that the ceiling is "vaulted" over the entire cottage, and is unfinished. It has been suggested to me that I install soffitt vents and a ridge vent, and then insulate and finish.
Any suggestions what type of insulation to use for this, and how to proceed? Incidentally, I live in the northeast, and I'm not neccesarily trying to make this a year-round-use cottage.
Thanks to anyone who responds!
