I am putting in a Zoeller Quik Job in the basement.

I am working on venting it.

My question is:

I have a sump pump well that has a 4" vent pipe that goes up throught the roof of the house.

Is it possible that I can tap into this and use this as the vent for the quik john?

That is exactly what the vent stack is supposed to pick up.

The 4" VTR is perfect just make sure you run full size vent from the quik John.

Also check your local codes as some also take developed length into consideration when venting besides fixture units

Now there might be regional differences, but I don't think that it is common for sumps to have vents. And even when they do they don't need to be 4".

Could that "vent" be part of a randon elimination systems.

Figuring he was mentioning a toilet I assumed it would be a soil line not a sump thus he would need a vent.

Many folks call sewerage ejector set up a sump pump, but then again this person is not a licensed plumber from the origional posting I reckon
