It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of DeWalt tools here at Bob Vila. The brand has been manufacturing quality power and hand tools for nearly 100 years, making it a favorite of many professionals and DIYers alike. And while it’s hard to find a low-quality DeWalt tool, some of the company’s tools stand out from the crowd. Below, we’ve highlighted some of the best DeWalt tools at The Home Depot.
1. DeWalt 20V Max Cordless 7-Tool Combo Kit with ToughSystem Case
This seven-tool combo comes with almost everything a DIYer or budding professional could need for the job: a drill, impact driver, grinder, oscillating tool, sander, flashlight, and a circular saw. It also comes with the brand’s wheeled ToughSystem case, which is a modular system that users can stack with additional storage. The entire kit runs on the brand’s 20V battery system, and three batteries and a charger are included with the set.
2. DeWalt 60V Lithium-Ion 12-Inch Cordless Sliding Miter Saw Kit
If there’s a tool we lust over at the moment, it might be this 60V 12-inch cordless sliding miter saw kit—the runner-up in our favorite DeWalt miter saws. This saw features a double-bevel, double-miter design as well as an ergonomic miter lock, adjustable fences, and an LED cutline. The saw runs on the larger 60V Max batteries of which it comes with one 9 Ah battery. On a full charge, this saw can cut up to 675 times in 3 ¼-inch baseboard, for 255 times in 4×4 lumber. It even features regenerative braking that recovers energy from the spinning blade to extend run time.
3. DeWalt Atomic 20V Max Cordless 1/2-Inch Ratchet
For tightening multiple large stubborn nuts and bolts—or simply fastening those in hard-to-reach places—check out the DeWalt Atomic 20V Max cordless ½-inch ratchet. This heavy-duty ratchet runs on the brand’s 20V Max battery system and is able to deliver up to 70 foot-pounds of torque. It has an onboard LED work light, a chemical-resistant nylon housing, and a variable speed trigger. Keep in mind that this particular model includes just the tool only, meaning it doesn’t come with a battery. If you don’t already have this in your workshop, you can buy it separately or even get one free with a purchase of select power tools at The Home Depot for a limited time.
4. DeWalt Atomic 20V Max Cordless 3/8-Inch Ratchet
The smaller sibling to our last pick, the ⅜-inch 20V Max cordless ratchet offers the same convenience in a smaller package—that’s why we recognized it as a top pick in our cordless ratchet test. This model features a chemically-resistant housing, an onboard work light, and a powerful motor that produces up to 70 foot-pounds of torque, controlled by a variable speed trigger. It also comes with a 4 Ah battery and charger.
5. DeWalt 20V Max Brushless Cordless Battery Powered String Trimmer
Power might not be the first thing that comes to mind thinking of cordless string trimmer, but this model from DeWalt has plenty on tap. This string trimmer accepts the brand’s 20V Max batteries (coming with a 5 Ah battery and charger of its own) and features a 14-inch cutting swath. The trimmer also features a hinged design that folds in half for easy storage. It also features a variable speed trigger and it accepts proprietary DeWalt Quick-Load Spools of trimming string.
6. DeWalt Flexvolt 60V Max Cordless Brushless Reciprocating Saw
Who doesn’t need a powerful, compact reciprocating saw? This model from DeWalt is excellent, using the brand’s 60V Max batteries, coming with a 9 Ah battery of its own, as well as a charger. It features tool-less blade changes, a variable speed trigger, and an onboard LED work light. It can reach maximum speeds of 300 strokes per minute, as well, providing a very capable reciprocating saw. (A very similar model took top honors when we tested reciprocating saws, so we’re confident in this newer version’s performance.)
7. DeWalt 20V Max Cordless Brushless 4.5- to 5-Inch Paddle Switch Angle Grinder
Grinders generally require a lot of power, which is precisely why we find this cordless model from DeWalt to be so special. This cordless grinder utilizes the 20V Max batteries to produce enough power to cut through light-duty steel and heavy-duty cast iron. It also features a kickback brake that helps keep the user safe if the blade binds up and tries to send the grinder backward. Plus, it won our upgrade pick award in our cordless grinder comparison.
8. DeWalt 20V Max XR Cordless Brushless 3-Speed Oscillating Multi Tool
An oscillating tool can be indispensable in many situations, from plunge cutting to trimming casing during flooring installations and much more. The 20V Max XR oscillating multi tool combines that convenience with cordless operation, utilizing the brand’s 20V battery system. It has three speeds as well as quick-release blade changes, a built-in LED, and a variable speed trigger. This model is tool-only, but for folks already invested in the 20V Max system of cordless DeWalt tools, they’ll likely have at least one battery on hand to use.
9. DeWalt 15 Amp Corded 10-Inch Job Site Table Saw
When it comes to ripping wood with any degree of speed and repeatable accuracy at a job site, the tool of choice should be the table saw. This 10-inch model from DeWalt fits the bill, with its 15-amp motor, rack-and-pinion fence adjustments, and 32.5 in rip capacity. It comes with a rolling stand, a blade, the fence, two blade change tools, a miter gauge, a push stick, and a blade guard, with on-board storage for most of these items.
10. DeWalt Yellow 3-Tier Wire Steel Garage Storage Shelving Unit
Having so many go-to DeWalt tools does pose a small storage issue, but shoppers can easily handle this list and more with the brand’s 3-tier wire steel garage storage shelving unit. This shelving unit measures 50 inches wide, 48 inches high, and 18 inches deep, and it can handle 1,500 pounds per shelf. The steel is powder-coated for durability, and it’s easy to assemble with pins and clips. This shelf was also one our favorites from our hands-on test of garage shelving.
