I tested this mop on a variety of flooring types including vinyl floors in my bathroom, laminate floors in my living room, and tile floors in my kitchen. No matter where I used it, I found this mop was great for removing food debris, pet hair, and everyday dirt. The design of the mop and pad also made it easy to get into corners and clean moldings. I appreciated the fact that the kit included three pads because similar products often include fewer pads. Three is likely enough to ensure that users could easily have one or two clean pads on hand—at least for the average household. With that in mind, I highly recommend this product for homes with kids and pets, where messes often happen when they are least expected. This also makes the Rubbermaid Reveal a more economical choice than mops that require disposable pads because there’s no need to buy refills. However, Rubbermaid advises replacing the pads every hundred washes, but replacement pads are readily available.
In addition to being easy to use—just pull the trigger to dispense solution and mop—this system doesn’t require batteries or recharging. It’s also lightweight at just under 1.5 pounds, and it’s easy to maneuver.
Smartly designed, the Rubbermaid Reveal’s microfiber cloth is slightly larger than the mophead, so it can easily clean corners and baseboards, which not every mop can do. This spray mop, on the other hand, handles these tasks with ease.
How easy is the Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop to put together?
The Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop couldn’t be easier to assemble. It’s pretty self-explanatory, and there’s no need to consult any type of written directions or watch a video. This makes it a good choice for just about anyone who needs to get right to cleaning any type of hard flooring.
All that’s required is to fill the bottle with hot water and 2 teaspoons of your preferred brand of floor cleaner. Carefully insert the bottle into the chamber; the bottle should lock right in. Then attach a clean microfiber cloth, and it’s time to start cleaning. Start by pulling the trigger to dispense the cleaning solution.
Keep in mind, however, that this mop doesn’t dispense the most generous amount of solution, so you may need to pull the trigger multiple times when cleaning very dirty floors. Still, it is easy enough to use. On the plus side, I really liked that I could make the solution more concentrated if I needed to remove stuck-on debris.
Is the Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop good quality?
In terms of quality, this mopping kit is quite impressive. The microfiber pads are nice and thick, perfect for absorbing spills and pet messes. The thickness also assures debris is picked up without the mop pad wearing out or coming out of the washing machine worse for wear. That being said, it never hurts to wash these pads in the gentle cycle because doing so can likely extend their life. I’ve washed the pads multiple times since testing and I’ve been very impressed with how well they’ve stood up.
The rest of the mop is equally impressive. The 22-ounce refillable bottles are made of thick plastic, so they are unlikely to break, crack, or spring leaks. The metal pole is strong and doesn’t feel like it could bend or break, no matter where the mop is stored or how it is used. Even with a lot of elbow grease, the components didn’t fall apart, break, or shift when I tested the mop.
The mophead is also quite sturdy and is made of thick plastic. It feels very well attached to the rest of the mop, and it didn’t detach even when I pressed hard during testing. However, because the pad is made of microfiber, most of the time, a lot of elbow grease isn’t necessary.
Is the Rubbermaid Reveal Microfiber Spray Mop Kit worth the money?
At around $45, the Rubbermaid floor cleaning kit isn’t necessarily inexpensive for a mop and accessories. However, it is very much worth the money for several reasons. First, it can be used for all types of flooring, making it one of the most versatile options on the market. So even if you move to a new home or renovate and install a different type of flooring, you can still use this mop. Second, it’s also lightweight and compact, so it’s ideal for cleaning services or for use in RVs or smaller homes.
Plus, the microfiber mop pads are reusable up to 100 times, meaning this mop is far less expensive than buying similar mop kits that use disposable pads. Lastly, the bottles can be used with any brand of cleaning solution—or even vinegar and water, which costs just pennies. So there’s no need to buy expensive solutions exclusively for this product.

Another advantage the Rubbermaid Reveal has compared to other mops for vinyl flooring is that it doesn’t require batteries or need to be plugged in. This means it can be moved from room to room with very little effort without the need to stop or bend down.
This mop and its components are also very sturdy and durable. Each pad can be washed up to 100 times and still pick up the same amount of dirt, debris, dust, and pet hair. Additional pads are available, so this mop could be used for years.
Finally, one of the best things about this mop is that it can be used with any cleaning product and comes with two bottles.
