Walmart Announces 2021 Black Friday Deals: 3 Huge Sales, Walmart+ Members Early Access, and More
Good things come to those who wait—but don’t wait too long to buy: Walmart’s 'Deals for Days' are almost here.
Prices are current as of the last update at 5 pm on 10/18/21.
Start making your holiday gift lists now: Walmart has announced its month of Black Friday “Deals for Days,” starting in November. Instead of one day of in-store deals, Walmart will release deals first online, then in stores, throughout November, culminating in one final Black Friday sale that will bring the best deals shoppers have seen all month.
Walmart’s “Deals for Days”
- The first sale will start at 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, and in stores starting on Friday, November 5, 2021. Those deals will be available until Sunday, November 7.
- The second round of deals kicks off online on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 7 p.m. EST and in stores on Friday, November 12, 2021. Like the first round of deals, the second round will expire the Sunday after they’re released, which is November 14.
- The dates of the third round of deals haven’t been revealed, but per the retailer’s announcement, “Walmart will wrap up a month of savings with a third event that will bring its biggest, best savings of the season for the most exciting shopping day of the year.”
Special Prices for Walmart+ Members
There’s a special incentive for Walmart+ members: They’ll get access to these deals 4 hours before anyone else. If you’re not already a member but want early access to the sales, plus additional perks like free shipping year-round, sign up for a 15-day free trial today. Early access to the Black Friday sales doesn’t apply to trial members, so you’ll have to be a paying Walmart+ member by November 3. A Walmart+ membership costs $12.95 a month or $98 a year.
Buy Before Black Friday
For the second year in a row, Walmart stores won’t be open on Thanksgiving due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The retailer has also yet to announce whether or not stores will be open on Black Friday, but has made it a priority to offer “events [that] are designed for a safe, enjoyable experience.”
While the promise of these great deals might tempt you to wait to do your holiday shopping, experts say it’s a good idea to start shopping now. Many will remember last year’s product shortages and shipping delays because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and it’s looking like there will be a similar situation again this year. FedEx and USPS are both raising their shipping prices ahead of the holiday season. Retailers and shipping companies are working to reduce this supply chain bottleneck, but it’s unlikely that these issues will be resolved before most people need to order their holiday gifts. Luckily, Walmart (in addition to other retailers) has some deals already available for consumers who are looking to get a jump-start on their shopping lists.
