To mark three decades of its 18V ONE+ battery platform, the Ryobi has released a limited-edition Blackout collection exclusively at Home Depot — and if you want one, you’ll need to act fast. Stores have been selling out almost as soon as the tools hit shelves.
The centerpiece of the anniversary release is the Ryobi ONE+ HP 18V Compact Brushless Drill/Driver Kit, in an all-black finish that’s a significant departure from the brand’s signature neon green. The kit comes with a 4Ah HP battery and charger and is priced at $99. The upgrade to a 4Ah battery alone makes the anniversary kit a great value. The drill itself is Ryobi’s lightest 18V cordless drill at just 2.1 pounds.
Ryobi also released a limited-edition Blackout cordless vacuum.
What makes the 30th anniversary worth noting beyond the new colorway is the milestone itself. The ONE+ 18V system has maintained backward compatibility since 1996, meaning today’s high-performance batteries work with tools purchased up to three decades ago. For homeowners who have built up a Ryobi ecosystem over the years, that’s a genuine achievement.
