Looking for more help (re: cracks in basement message below)...

It's rained for the last three days. There are now new cracks in the basement floor. The old ones have expanded (got wider), but no leaks are detected. I'm a bit concerned... Could this be related to a need to pump the septic? This is a three year old home. I'm not sure if the septic has ever been pumped. The cracks weren't here when I moved in. Should I call an expert or should I just keep my eye on it? Could it be related to house settling? If the cracks get bigger, any idea what I should do?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

If you have a 'current' movement/cracking problem....call a structural engineer NOW.....Yellow pages>Enginners>Professional>GEOTECHNICAL/SOILS or STRUCTURAL.......An on-site visit is the only way to begin to assess what's going on.........good luck doug
