I HAVE A BASEMENT THAT IS ABOUT 2/3RDS UNDER GROUND. THE WALLS ARE INSULATED WITH 4" FIBERGLASS INSULATION AND HAVE 1/4" OAK PANELING. I HAVE A FORCED AIR GAS FURNACE, AND HAVE ABOUT 7 DUCTS THROUGHOUT THE BASEMENT IN A SUSPENDED CEILING. THERE IS NO COLD AIR RETURN IN THE BASEMENT AND WONDER IF ONE INSTALLED NEAR THE FLOOR WOULD IMPROVE THE HEATING IN THE BASEMENT, AS IT IS MUCH COLDER THAN IN THE FIRST FLOOR OF OUR SPLIT ENTRY HOUSE.

Check out a company called Calorique if you have a dry basement and want radiant heat.
